MIKE + VANESSA TORRES

We’re a husband-and-wife team rooted in Central Texas, bringing live-fire cooking and generous hospitality to your celebrations. We also own the famous Duetts Texas Club in Martindale—our bar, your tasting destination and a 300-person wedding and event venue. It’s part of our story, and we’d love to make it part of yours.

  • APPROACH

    We specialize in outdoor, live-fire cooking and curated experiences. With venue permission, we travel to every event with our custom smoker & live fire tables that are an experience all their own.

  • MENUS

    All of our menus are custom designed for you and for the season. As much as possible we love to cook with ingredients that are locally sourced. All of our meats come from Texas and are selected in collaboration with our butcher.

  • SERVICES

    Our outdoor, open fire cooking is an inviting and approachable experience for you and your guests. Our goal is to make delicious comfort food that is clean, responsibly sourced, and presented in a beautiful way. We love to serve dinner family-style because it complements the experience we create in making the food. That said, we’re also happy to serve dinner buffet-style as well, either traditionally or directly from the grill.

A family business. A personal approach.

We are a husband-and-wife team based in Central Texas, with food, photography and hospitality at the heart of what we do.

Mike leads Gold Epicure's menus and live-fire cooking. Vanessa is the photographer behind Vanessa Lain Photo and brings her eye for people and beautiful gatherings to our work.

We also own Duetts Texas Club in Martindale, our bar, tasting room and event venue. It is where you can meet us, taste the food and begin planning a celebration.

Ingredients, seasons and a life in Texas.

Mike grew up around his parents' restaurants and bakeries, and later ran a six-acre organic farm. That background shapes how he thinks about ingredients, seasons and cooking in the open.

Gold Epicure brings that approach to the table: a menu developed for your gathering, live-fire cooking with a sense of occasion and a team that takes care of the service around it.
